INSULAE is an artistic and informative proposal born from the passion for maps and the attraction for islands. The project invites to immerse oneself in memory by transiting between real and symbolic spaces through the detection of visual residues in the form of spots. The lyrical gaze of these images of rejection allows one to delve into the interior of the individual to make stories and narratives visible. Thus, physical places become a source of active significance that opens the door to subjectivity. The spots, once decontextualized from their origin, are reconfigured, transformed into island maps and reinterpreted with a new layer of toponymy. The islands emerge as the ideal setting to stimulate the imagination because they become an instrument of thought for the individual and collective identities of the human being in an exercise of poetic cartography.
