INSULAE dislpayed in Banyoles
The project was released in a paper at the Darder Museum
INSULAE was presented last July 2024 at the second edition of the international congress of ‘Walking Art and Relational Cartographies’ held between the Catalan cities of Girona and Banyoles. The event brought together creators and researchers interested in artistic practices linked to walking and relational cartographies.
The Darder Museum in Banyoles hosted the presentation by the project's ideologist who delved into the concepts on which the INSULAE proposal is built in front of around fifty people. The author highlighted that many of the maps have their origin while walking through either natural or urban environments with an open and discovery attitude. This circumstance links with psychogeography in terms of the capacity for observation, as well as the random exploration of cities or the emotional charge of each place. The initiative excited the attendees for its originality and freshness and also for its poetic view.
