SINOPSIS

INSULAE is an artistic and informative proposal born from a passion for maps and an attraction to islands. The project invites to immerse oneself into memory by transiting between real and symbolic spaces through the detection of visual debris in the form of spots. The lyrical perspective on these garbage images opens the door to subjectivity. These stains, decontextualized from their origin and filtered through the lens of geographical language and toponymy, are reinterpreted on island maps to reveal stories and narratives. The islands emerge as an ideal setting to stimulate the imagination, becoming a tool for reflecting on individual and collective identities in an exercise of poetic cartography.
